| ES&C understands and appreciates that many citizen
monitoring groups do not have access to adequate taxonomic expertise,
or have limited funds to send macroinvertebrate collections to qualified
consultants. ES&C has a program designed specifically to meet
these needs. The following options are available for pre-picked benthic
samples. Please contact us directly
for pricing on unpicked, bulk samples. This program is valid through
December 31, 2005.
Family-Level
Identifications/Verifications: We provide family level
identification of macroinvertebrate samples of 100 to 200 organisms.
Price includes appropriate sample handling and tracking QA/QC. This
service is intended as a low-cost method for preliminary data gathering
efforts or as a verification of client identifications. Preparation
of reference collections is not included.
Lowest-Practical Taxon: We provide identification
of macroinvertebrate samples, which are relatively free of debris,
to lowest practical taxonomic level for up to 500 organisms. Price
includes appropriate sample handling and tracking and full taxanomic
QA/QC. A minimum of ten samples per shipment is required. Preparation
of reference collections is not included.
Sample Shipping: We provide sample and shipping
containers; sample custody documents; and instructions for sample
packing, shipping, and handling. If shipped according to our specifications,
samples can be shipped via ground carrier (Fed Ex Ground, UPS Ground)
with no Hazardous Materials labeling requirements or charges. This
method meets requirements set forth in 49CFR173.4.
Other shipping methods may require Hazardous Materials labeling
and associated charges to maintain compliance with DOT regulations.
ES&C will handle sample disposal at no charge for clients who
do not wish to have samples returned to them. We have arrangements
to provide macroinvertebrates to various institutions for a variety
of educational purposes. The disposition of all organisms is maintained
for a minimum of 5 years. For clients who desire to have samples
returned to them after analysis, an additional charge for sample
containers and shipping will be applied.
How To Order:
New Clients: Please download and return a New
Client Information Form (CIF) in either Word
or PDF
formats. CIFs can be returned by email to office@es-and-c.com
or by fax to 540-552-1528. In your email or fax, please state how
many samples you have so we can send you the appropriate kit.
Returning Clients: Please send an email to lab@es-and-c.com
to request a sample kit for your samples and verify your billing
information.
