ES&C to Attend the 2003 Indiana Govenor's Conference on the Environment

BLOOMINGTON, IN (10/09/2003) - Environmental Services & Consulting will be attending this years Govenor's Conference on the Environment. The conference will take place at Fort Harrison State Park, Indianapolis on October 30th.This year's theme is "Environmental Investment: Increasing your rate of return".

The continuing trend of developing and urbanizing our lands is having a dramatic effect on our natural resources and environment. Land is being converted at the rate of 2.2 million acres per year and Indiana is no exception. The increase in urbanized land, compared to the average population growth in the Midwest, is shocking, and as a result, parks, recreational areas, green spaces, trailways and other outdoor amenities are slowly being squeezed out.

This one day event includes panel discussions on invasive and exotic species, quality of living, and health and healthy places; Govenor's Awards for Environmental Excellence; and keynote address by the Deputy Director of NIEHS Dr. Samuel H. Wilson.
